MessageMaker is a web based message entry, repair and release
application for financial institutions wanting to create SWIFTNet FIN, Telex
and SWIFTNet InterAct
(ver.6) messages.
The system
makes use of web technologies such as HTTP, XML and Java to
create an ideal application for thin client connectivity to SWIFT.
The software has its own XML library for all SWIFT messages
including the ISO15022 series and host applications can easily integrate
with it using industry standard communication links such as IBM’s MQSeries.
Its appeal as a replacement for green screens and ‘thick
client’ workstations, i.e. PC Connect & Alliance Workstations, with its
flexibility, ease of rollout and centralised administration has already been
recognised by financial institutions of all sizes, including SWIFT’s largest
user.
Its flexibility and scalability is unchallenged. It can deliver a single
solution for global, multi-branched banks, as well as the smaller bank
needing comprehensive and assured message entry functionality.

It can be used to automatically validate messages sent directly from a host
system, and those that are ‘dirty’ can be cleaned and resent. This reduces
the cost of NAK’d messages and facilitates STP.
The system allows its users to log into a central server from their desktop
browsers to check the progress of their messages and display relevant
management information in real time.
MessageMaker system security provides extensive user controls for every
stage of the workflow process, e.g. message entry, verification, approval
and release.
User profiling can also be controlled by other criteria such as SWIFT
address, department, message type, currency, and amount etc.
MessageMaker has its own set of APIs and therefore interfaces with back
office applications seamlessly.
Message Maker can make a substantial contribution in reducing the expensive
repair of NAK’d messages, thus significantly improving “Straight Through
Processing” (STP).
