Basic Concepts
...
ClaritySwitch receives all incoming and outgoing
SWIFT messages from the bank’s host systems using communications links such as
IBM MQ Series or proprietary host links.
Alternatively, a batch file containing SWIFT
messages can be downloaded using the ClaritySwitch automated batch interface.
ClaritySwitch is a distributed “n-tier” application
and its GUI
offers access to
"ClarityInfo",
the Management
Information System and the other ClaritySwitch applications, such as “MessageMaker”,
“Billing” and “ClarityFlo”,
for message routing, message control and workflow.

ClaritySwitch Services ...
Core Application Services…
This module includes the core processes such as software licensing, security
management, session control and the data access layer.
Communications…
The communications module handles the interfaces with the bank’s SWIFT
Interface system or back-office hosts in real-time or file transfer mode. It
is a multi-threaded server application, capable of handling up to 32
simultaneous host connections with full session control and recovery.
Http & J2EE Servers…
The Web server hosts the applications and
publishes the web pages. It also provides the “data access” lay
er to the
database.
Web Browser…
The application interface (GUI) is presented to
the User via a Web Browser, with a URL type access to the Web Server hosting
the User application.
Workflow Functionality...
Instant information on message-flow and ownership to
client workstations
Full audit trail and history – log of each event as it
happens

Messages routed automatically to departments –
configurable and parameter driven
Reduces
errors and eliminates unnecessary printing intervention / manual
distribution
Comprehensive departmental security and control
Guaranteed distribution of messages with message
broadcast facility
Promotes a paperless environment – printing on demand
Business Benefits ...
Reduced cost through improved STP …
Intelligent message entry and repair before hitting SWIFT
network
Consolidated view of message flow …
allowing efficient management of all messages through one
consolidated point
Reduced systemic risk …
monitoring throughput, managing
flows and knowing where
messages are at any given moment
Improved security …
via its discrete and comprehensive message management &
security layer
Improved access to messages in historical archives …
enabling improved service levels for correspondents and
customers with PDF, Excel, Word and e-mail outputs
