TMS - Treasury Management System

A “Treasury Management System” (TMS)  (sometimes known as a Treasury Workstation) is a treasury-specific system that automates many of the manual, repetitive steps needed to manage a company’s cash position and cash flow. A TMS enables a firm to communicate with financial institutions in order to manage cash, transactions, forecasts, FX, investments and debt. The TMS can seamlessly interface with a company’s general ledger/ back office systems - offering an instant financial dashboard. Recent changes in the financial environment call for improved transparency in a company's cash positions as lines of credit have become scarce or have been accompanied by onerous conditions.
