Major changes in the SWIFT Alliance portfolio are affecting organisations in 2011/2012. Alliance 7.0 is the latest major release for the Alliance portfolio. Support for Alliance 6.x products (See Note *) will end in end March 2012, at which point you will need to have installed release 7.0 of your Alliance infrastructure.
The degree of disruption caused by this change will be a function of how your organisation connects to the SWIFT network. For Synergy's Fully Hosted Service Bureau customers, the process is very simple. For organisations operating their own infrastructure, the upgrade process is complicated, disruptive, time consuming and expensive.
The table below describes the upgrade process for customers with Windows Server based infrastructure.
